Worse than pulling teeth – HELP NEEDED!

Diesel injectors are a nightmare to get out. We hope you agree.....Sykes-Pickavant currently have a tool under development and we need to test it.

If you live within a 30 mile radius of Burntwood (WS7 3FU) with a vehicle in your workshop with this issue, CONTACT US!

Drop us an email and we might choose your garage to help you take out the injector. There is no guarantee you’ll be chosen but that’s what development is all about........ never know your luck!
Send an email by 3pm on Friday 8th April to: blog@sykes-pickavant.com put INJECTOR PULLER in the subject line of the email and include the following information:

·        Vehicle Make and Model
·        Age of vehicle
·        Engine Type
·        Mileage
·        Your contact Details – Name and Number

Sadly, we can only offer this help to one lucky garage but we will offer similar support through this blog in future. Good Luck!

It’s CES time again!

We are currently supporting CES UK and their Diesel Evenings that are taking place at various venues around the country. The evenings are hosted by Steve McCann, MD of CES UK and the presentation he gives about Common Rail diesel problems is well worth a listen.

The latest diesel event took place at Porthmadog last night with over 100 people attending. Visitors got to see on-vehicle demo’s, were told about new technology updates and had the opportunity to purchase several tools with special ‘on the night’ prices. Made in Britain – Challenge Dr Bob!

As a company we are always being bombarded with requests for new products and whilst we are always up for a challenge, some turn out to be even too wacky for us! However, one request that came across my desk recently was a tool to make working on suspension quicker and easier. We were pleased to work with a local manufacturer – Conveyer Engineering and local garage owner Paul from Trust Automotive to develop the tool and after several prototypes and test sessions we have now got a successful tool – the McPherson Strut Lifter on the market. If you have any ideas for a new tool or have any problems that may require a new tool being developed – then get in touch. We would love to hear from you!

Mechanex Exeter – Doctor in the house!

Dr Bob was down at the Mechanex show in Exeter this week and was pleased to see how busy the place seemed. As usual there were lots of questions about new product ideas like the new style brake cap for some newer Ford models …....watch this space!

We were also working with our friends at LUK who were showing our new tool for second generation wheel bearings as fitted to the following vehicles: Audi A2, Seat Ibiza IV & Cordoba, Skoda Fabia, VW Polo models & Fox. By the end of the show their guys were racing each other to see who could complete the job in the fastest time! Looks like this could be a winner!

Note from Editor:
Dr Bob was expecting a tough time in Exeter and this was evident by his ‘tough’ haircut he had before the show and after a gruelling day, it came to a point where he let down what little hair he had left and let’s just say the bars in Exeter will never be the same again……….
